Marketing Manager

Headquartered in Los Angeles, the Championship Gaming SeriesTM. (CGS)

Position
The Marketing Manager will develop and execute marketing campaigns for
the league in the U.S., develop gaming-related promotions for the
league and its teams, communicate marketing goals and strategies, and act as
local liaison to the league’s media partners, sponsors, and local
gaming communities. Marketing areas of responsibility include: live event
marketing, online content generation and interactive community
building, media planning and placement, promotional planning and execution,
field marketing, entertainment marketing, co-marketing initiatives, and
basic brand management. This newly-created position will be based in Los
Angeles and report to the VP of Marketing.
Core Responsibilities:
• Operates as the brand champion, recommends how the league and its
teams are represented, develops on-going recommendations for marketing
tactics and strategies
• Works in conjunction with various CGS groups including Operations,
Business Development, Project Management, PR, Administration and TV
Production
• Conceives, develops, and executes league and team promotions with
regional partners to drive affinity for the league and awareness/traffic
for the league and team websites
• Performs all local event marketing support functions
• Manages alliances with league vendors, service providers, agencies,
representatives, and game publishers
• Estimates costs for marketing budgets and manages executional
spending with accuracy
• Compiles data and produces marketing reports as needed for Marketing
Department and others
• Ensures consistency of brand image and messaging throughout various
media, including advertising, collateral material, online, and
promotional materials
• Tracks gaming consumer activities and lifestyle preferences,
maintains calendar of regional gaming events and advises league on local gamer
activities and opportunities
• Manages and traffics assets to media partners, sponsors, and league
vendors.
Requirements:
• A passion for the world of gaming
• Minimum 4 years marketing experience in sports entertainment, gaming,
interactive or other media
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and generate creative
solutions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
with partners and negotiate with vendors
• Proven ability to work effectively, both independently and within a
team
• Strong analytic abilities
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelors Degree; MBA preferred
