* Background*
UN-HABITAT has been working in the disasterreconstruct ion field, including
disaster preparedness, for more than twodecades and it has implemented
several natural disaster-related projects incountries like Iran,
Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, SriLanka and the
Philippines.
Since January 2005 UN-HABITAT is implementing the Aceh
and Nias Settlements Support Programme (ANSSP), an umbrella programme of
UnitedNations Development Programme (UNDP) supported by various donors
&government. In 2007, UN-HABITAT supported by the Asian Development Bank
(ADB)started Nias/Simeulue Settlements Support Programme (NSSP/S3P)
UN-HABITAThas been involved in the design and implementation of a number of
innovativeprojects revolving around "adequate shelter through
communityempowermen t." UN-HABITAT Indonesiaunit is supported by a team of
international and national professionalsspecia lizing in Human Settlements
and supported by UNDP/ADB.
UN-HABITAT ANSSP website (www.unhabitat- indonesia. org) was
set up as knowledge management tool for the shelter and housing sector for
Aceh
and Nias reconstruction. It had 20,000 hits in 2007. The library component,
containing over 1,000 document references to the reconstruction of housing
and
settlements, was accessible by a windows-based application ('Iglo'), running
on
the proprietary server of UN-HABITAT. In anticipation of the closure of
ANSSP
and the handover of assets to UNDP, the decision was made to keep the
library
available, by uploading the website to a cheap off-shore server. This server
uses Linux. While most of the website functions have been running well, the
library search component became inactive due to incompatibility problems
between Windows and Linux. Therefore, the decision was taken to contract an
outside programmer to fix the incompatibility problems.
NSSP/S3Prequires services of Library Programmer to support the program,
performing thefollowing duties and responsibilities:

Under the supervision of Housing Policy Advisor the LibraryProgrammer will:

Assist Librarianin re-developing program for UN-HABITAT library
·
Creatingconfigurati on for database
·
Assisting withinstallation program in the server
·
Assisting withcustomized template as per requirement of the library system.
·
AssistingLibrarian to solve trouble in related with library program.
·
Mastering libraryonline program, like IGLOO, FreeLib, Athenium, ISIS online,
etc that canconvert the isis data to html
Educational Qualifications

Bachelor degreein Computer science, multimedia or related disciplines
·
Englishlanguage knowledge is an asset
