This position is available to an experienced Payroll Manager to manage
the company’s payroll department responsible for both US and Canadian
payrolls. This position will be responsible for managing a team
comprised of two Payroll Specialists. This position ensures the accurate and
timely semi-monthly payroll system input and output using ADP Software.
Responsibilities also include PR journal entries, reconciliation of
related payroll balance sheet accounts, and improvement of internal
processes within payroll. The role reports directly to the Assistant
Controller and will also work with multiple cross-functional departments
across the organization. This position requires an experienced payroll
professional who is an accomplished manager, has a track record of
process improvement and is well versed in ADP PCPW.

Major Responsibilities:
· Manage the payroll department operations and personnel.
· Manage the day-to-day payroll processing operations of US and Canada
payroll and specialized processing including, but not limited to:
expatriates, F1 and H1B visas, stock options, ESPP, car allowances, tax and
garnishment requests, relocation, transfers between entities, bonuses,
mergers and acquisition transactions.
· Oversee the processing of all new hires, payroll file maintenance
changes, terminations, salary increases and deductions.
· Evaluate current procedures and policies and implement necessary
changes to comply with company and government regulations.
· Prepare monthly payroll or review related journal entries and account
reconciliations.
· Work with internal and external individuals, departments, and
agencies to answer questions, resolve issues and obtain and share information
related to Payroll.
· Work with HR, Stock Administrator, GL, FP&A and other departmental
staff in various functions within the company as well as third party
vendors, including ADP, to ensure the Payroll department is meeting payroll
and, benefit management needs, while ensuring timely and accurate
payroll processing.
· Review ADP reports and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that
the quarterly and annual filings are accurate and correct.
· Coordinate with HR, Payroll and Stock Admin on the best means of
communicating information, tracking earnings/deductions and reporting to
employees, managers or outside services (audits, states, brokers).
· Maintain 404B SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) narrative documentation and manage
quarterly audits and testing with both Internal and External Auditors.
· Investigate payroll inaccuracies, process various deductions, process
401k contributions, stock options and ESPP, and manage “track of time
off” liability reporting (vacation, sick, personal, etc).
· Researches, assembles, and summarizes information upon request.

Contribution & Initiative:
· Manage reporting and recording vacation time taken to employees and
managers.
· Stay in compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
by studying existing and new legislations – enforcing adherence to
requirements and advising management on needed actions.
· Consult with Manager on implementation, change management and best
practices.
· Work with management to ensure that the overall payroll function is
effectively supporting the Corporations’ strategic goals for short and
long term special payroll projects.
· Establish North America organization-wide standards and best
practices, including developing and updating policies, procedures and workflows
ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls.
· Explain the measure of leadership and/or scale of positive influence
on department direction, policy, processes and practices.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
· Min 7-10 years of actual payroll processing and payroll supervising.

· Strong technical skills, including proficiency with computerized
payroll systems.
· Canadian payroll experience helpful.
· Must be familiar with processing payroll that includes: LOA, 401K,
ROTH, qualified and non-qualified stock options, restricted stock, ESPP,
severances, international transfers, expatriate employees, and dual tax
resident employees.
· Sound knowledge of accounting for, and reconciliation of payroll
transactions.
· Ability to oversee and provide guidance to payroll administrators.
· Experience in payroll tax reporting, account analysis, general ledger
and ancillary interfaces.
· Experience in finding solutions to technical payroll, accounting and
system issues.
· Ability to work independently and effectively to communicate to
various levels of management and staff.
· Ability to analyze and prioritize information to make appropriate
recommendations for resolution and/or prevention of problems.
· Meticulous attention to detail is required, as well as reliability,
accuracy and timeliness in performance of recurring responsibilities.
· Strong problem-solving abilities, including ability to research,
organize and analyze information.
· Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
· Must have excellent verbal/written communication, problem solving,
organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
· Must be able to react to change productively, have strong initiative
and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Must be a team player and able to work in a fast pace and rapidly
changing environment
· AA or BS in Business or Accounting preferred. Professional
certification desirable (CPA, CMA, CPP)
