JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a talented and aggressive director / senior director
level product management professional with a track record of building
teams and recognized success defining market winning products for the
enterprise marketplace. The selected candidate will build a team to own and
drive Riverbed’s long-term vision and roadmap for storage and
replication specific optimization products, features and functionality.
The selected candidate will apply product management skills, technical
knowledge, and influence from the C-Level down to ensure Riverbed’s
success in delivering application acceleration solutions for our largest
customers’ complex network environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Own long term vision and roadmap for Riverbed’s storage and
replication specific optimization features and functionality
• Build a product management team focused on delivering optimization
solutions to the storage market.
• Drive and communicate vision and product strategy for how Riverbed’s
products integrate into enterprise data centre environments
• Help forge relationships with outside storage vendors
• Influence engineering team and executive management, drive product
priorities and lead cross-functional product teams
• Write / influence product requirements documents (PRDs), working
closely with sales and customers to validate the product definition
• Work with customers and sales to drive successful introduction of new
products and features to the market
• Develop collateral to communicate product value proposition to
customers/analysts
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• 15+ years engineering, IT, and/or product management experience, with
demonstrated success in product definition activities for successful
enterprise software or related products
• Deep familiarity with NAS, SAN, virtualization, storage networking
and related technologies.
• Deep familiarity with the storage market in general.
• Prefer familiarity w/ filesystems and linux as a dev platform, etc.
• High degree of flexibility and willingness to do whatever is required
to help ensure our success
• Ability to think on your feet, and quickly make well-reasoned
decisions even with a lack of data
• Ability to effectively interact with, and establish immediate
credibility with, the sales force, customers, CTO and the engineering team
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent. (MBA and/or MS
is highly desirable)
